In recent years, zirconium titanium sand has been widely used in fields such as aerospace, shipbuilding, nuclear industry, electronics industry, etc. Therefore, the demand for zirconium titanium sand is also increasing. 1. Test Purpose
The purpose of this experiment is to study the extraction process of seaside zirconium titanium sand ore, find an efficient and low-cost extraction method, and provide reference for the production of zirconium titanium sand.
2、 Test materials
The coastal zirconium titanium sand ore samples used in this experiment were from a coastal mining area, and the ore samples were obtained after crushing and screening.
III. Test Methods
1. Raw material processing
Crush and screen the ore sample to obtain ore particles with a particle size between 0.1 and 0.3mm, and then dry them to ensure that the subsequent extraction process is not affected by moisture.
2. Alkali melting extraction
The dried ore particles are mixed with sodium hydroxide in a certain proportion, and then alkali fusion reaction is carried out under the condition of high temperature and pressure. After the reaction, the reaction product is subjected to water washing, acid washing, and other treatments to obtain zirconium titanium sand.
3. Refining by Chloride process method
The dried ore particles are mixed with Aluminium chloride in a certain proportion, and then chlorinated under the condition of high temperature and pressure. After the reaction, the reaction product is subjected to water washing, acid washing, and other treatments to obtain zirconium titanium sand.
4. Comparative analysis
Compare and analyze the zirconium titanium sand obtained by the above two extraction methods, including yield, quality, cost, and other aspects.
4、 Test results
Through comparison and analysis, the output and quality of the alkali melting process are better than that of the Chloride process process. The cost of extracting zirconium titanium sand using alkali melting method is relatively low, and the operation is simple, making it suitable for large-scale production. Therefore, it is recommended to use the alkali melting method to extract the zirconium titanium sand ore from the seaside in this experiment.
5、 Conclusion
The results of this experiment indicate that the alkali melting method is an efficient and low-cost method for extracting zirconium titanium placers from coastal areas, suitable for large-scale production. However, the alkali melting method for extracting zirconium titanium sand requires attention to the control of reaction conditions to ensure the smooth progress of the reaction. In the future, we will further study and optimize the reaction conditions of alkali melting method to improve the yield and quality of zirconium titanium sand.
