1、 Magnetic separation method

Magnetic separation method is a method of separating non magnetic materials from magnetic materials by utilizing the magnetic differences between magnetic and non magnetic materials. In the production process of zircon, magnetic separation is mainly used to remove magnetic impurities in zircon, such as Magnetite, Ilmenite, etc.

The specific operation steps are as follows:

1. After crushing and grinding the zircon ore, it is made into powder.

2. Place the powdered zircon ore into a magnetic separator, which generates a magnetic field.

3. Magnetic impurities will be adsorbed by the magnetic separator, while non magnetic impurities will be excluded.

4. By adjusting the magnetic field strength and rotation speed of the magnetic separator, effective removal of magnetic impurities in zircon can be achieved.

It should be noted that the magnetic separation method can only remove magnetic impurities from zircon, and cannot be effective for non magnetic impurities.

2、 Reselection method

The gravity separation method is a method of separating minerals according to their density by utilizing their different settling velocities in a heavy medium. In the production process of zircon, the gravity separation method is mainly used to remove heavy impurities such as tungsten, tin, iron, etc. from zircon.

The specific operation steps are as follows:

1. After crushing and grinding the zircon ore, it is made into powder.

2. Place the powdered zircon ore into the gravity separator and add heavy media.

3. Heavy media will produce density difference, which will separate zircon and heavy impurities under gravity.

4. By adjusting parameters such as the density of the heavy medium and water flow rate of the gravity separator, effective removal of heavy impurities in zircon can be achieved.

It should be noted that the gravity separation method can only remove heavy impurities from zircon, and cannot be effective for light impurities.

III. Flotation method

Flotation method is a method of separating minerals based on their surface properties by utilizing the differences in their hydrophobicity in gases or liquids. In the production process of zircon, flotation method is mainly used to remove light impurities such as silicon and quartz from zircon.

The specific operation steps are as follows:

1. After crushing and grinding the zircon ore, it is made into powder.

2. Place powdered zircon ore into a flotation cell and add reagents.

3. Medication can cause a difference in the surface hydrophobicity between zircon and light impurities, resulting in the separation of zircon and light impurities under the action of bubbles.

By adjusting the parameters such as the type, dosage, and bubble size of the flotation cell, the effective removal of light impurities in zircon can be achieved.

It should be noted that the flotation method can only remove light impurities from zircon, while it cannot be effective for heavy impurities.
